Instagram Is No Longer The Same
What Pixenium Thinks
What stands out to us is that Instagram has tried to make the brand more expressive. The decision to draw from handwriting and craft lettering is closely connected to the platform purpose, giving people a space to create and share things in their own way. It also shows why a strong brand system needs to evolve with the product. Instagram has grown far beyond the simple photo-sharing app it was when the previous identity was introduced. Its visual identity now needs to support a much broader creative ecosystem. The biggest lesson for designers is that sometimes you can take something people already recognise and change the details that give it personality. Instagram is still Instagram. It just feels a little more like the creative community it represents.
